In my office at home, I have a creation. It's taped to the back of my door, and it's a picture drawn by one of my sons, aged about seven or eight. It's a picture of the room we are sitting in at this moment, a room that is very important to me. And I am very thankful that one) he was made in God's image with the ability to create, and two) that he chose to create this to bring me happiness. I hope that someday, HE will get to experience the joy of seeing a creation, from a life that he has created. And I can only imagine God's joy at seeing the creations of his nearly eight billion human creations. If we ever doubt God's word that we are the pinnacle of his creation, we are the part of his creation, for which he gave his Son.
Gracious God, help us to continue to be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it. Keep us from hubris in our ability to create, and guide us to live up to the potential you have given us, in Jesus name, amen.
